Dancing Bear Comfort Dogs are very proud to offer Comfort (Therapy) Dogs to assist

We know that people are healthier and happier as companion, service and therapy animals enrich and positively impact their everyday lives. In Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT), specific therapeutic goals are set forth; for example, a patient might work on range of motion in physical therapy by playing fetch with a dog.

Newfoundlands are legendary for their intuitiveness, and affinity to people, especially children. They are reliably gentle, calm, and outgoing. Newfoundlands also possess a natural desire to “heal”, they are genuinely concerned about people.

We welcome the opportunity to work with local schools, practitioners, organizations, individuals, and families in the San Francisco Bay Area. The big, sweet, teddy -bear dogs are useful for people with a variety of ways like Team Building, Cynophobia (fear of dogs), Autism, Grief Counseling, Stress, Illness, Cognitive Decline, Addiction, Trauma, and/or Depression.

The Silent Risk for Campuses Without Therapy Dogs

What’s the cost of NOT having a therapy dog program?
  • Researchers followed first-year college students over a full semester—some who had regular access to therapy dog sessions, and others who didn’t.
    • Students who engaged with therapy dogs saw their symptoms of depression, stress, and worry stay steady or improve.
    • Students who did not engage with therapy dogs saw those same symptoms get significantly worse over time.
  • It was that the absence of such programs actively contributed to decline.
  • Therapy dogs aren’t a luxury or a nice-to-have. They’re a low-barrier, high-impact intervention.
  • We cannot afford to overlook the emotional, academic, and human cost of leaving therapy dogs out of our educational environments.

Feedback from our clients

  • I’m writing to thank you for the amazing session we had with you!

Our daughter (5) has always been anxious around dogs, but recently, it had been getting to the point that it had truly become a phobia. Any time a dog was around she would insist that we pick her up and start screaming. She hated going to visit friends who had dogs, and even trips to the park or walks around the neighborhood were becoming extremely stressful and uncomfortable for us all. When we arrived at your place, our daughter was still anxious to get out of the vehicle, but she calmed down a little bit when you reassured her. The session itself was fun and wonderful!

  • This was life changing for my dog and our family.

Cesar is a 5 year old mini-goldendoodle. He was well potty trained and socialized to humans and dogs but basically I had no clue how to modify his behavior. With Bari’s insight, skill, and step by step teaching Cesar has made an amazing change in 6 weeks. Her crew is fabulous as well. I enjoyed the group class and plan to sign up for others.
May I say Bari went above and beyond with her advice and patience. Her recommended products to help Cesar with his anxiety were very effective.
    A+ Bari!
Thanks and hope to see you in class again.

  • Bari’s training classes are a must-go.

I am the first-timer mom of a puppy. I wouldn’t be confident to handle the puppy if without Bari! I took Apollo for two sessions of puppy classes in the past 6 months. Although during a pandemic, I felt it was quite safe to be outdoor and social distancing. Bari and her assistants were very professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. I didn’t have Apollo until the middle of the first session. Even I went to the classes without the puppy, I found that just observing the classes helped tremendously. When I got Apollo at 3 months, I knew what to do and what to expect. I am going to take Apollo to Bari’s next level training classes. If you have a puppy or an adult dog, Bari’s training classes are a must-go.

  • Bari is our hero.

My daughter was off to college with her 1 year old dog who was not trained yet. Bari went above and beyond in so many ways; working with us on the training schedule, meeting us in different locations to train our pup to different scenarios, and training her for 3 legs of plane travel over 3 days. Highly recommend Dog Days. Bari knows her stuff. Very effective and gentle. Great results. We will be back for more training by this highly knowledgeable trainer. Thank you Bari. You’re the best!
