Our Story

Canine Humane Educator

Bari began her career in Professional Dog Training in the 1980’s. She started Dog Days (Training, Exercising & Socializing) in 1995 offering Group Dog Training classes, Private Lessons, Training Outings & Boarding. She has
worked with over 9,000 dogs of all kinds since!

Bari has had her own Dancing Bear brown Newfoundland dogs since 1986, now 6 generations of working dogs
that have all assisted in her classes, lessons and outreach in schools and communities. Her dogs help clients and
their dogs by soothing, demonstrating, teaching and distracting as needed.

Bari started Dancing Bear Comfort Dogs in 2020 seeing the need for more dog Knowledge in the world to prevent dog bites, keep people and dogs safe, and reduce irresponsible breeding and placement of dogs resulting in dogs being relinquished and euthanized at an alarming rate. She teaches children in school workshops how to be safe and appropriate with dogs – their own and others’ dogs and about responsibility in
choosing, training and caring for dogs.

She is a Presenter with the Doggone Safe organization – teaching dog safety to children. She offers Kids Reading Programs, allowing children to read aloud to non-judgmental dogs – at home, in schools,
libraries and bookstores. Fun and important work to build confidence in the kids!

Meet the Dogs

All of my Newfoundlands are multi-titled AKC show, Obedience, Rally, Trick and American Temperament Test Society tested with 50 titles to date since 1986. They are seasoned and confident I have owned and bred Newfoundlands since 1986, now my 7th generation. They attend Comfort Sessions and accompany me in my Dog Training/Socializing Consults & Classes on a daily basis. They are very well socialized, beautifully presented and groomed.
